Serena & Lily

Today I came across this website (it hurts to write it this way AP committee) while I was "working." It has really cute home accessories, some of which I have convinced myself I need...well, more like need to recreate.

Hello, red lacquered table. Though I would love to purchase you for $300, I think you could be duplicated quite easily from a Craigslist piece.

This one is for the girls over at Rural Gone Urban :) A patchwork of white and neutral cowhide patches! This is gorgeous and probably not so easily duplicated at home.

I am dying to make this woven pendant at home to go over my dining room table. It shouldn't be too hard, right? I'll let you know when I come up with something.

Happy Tuesday!

Craigslist Table Makeover

Remember this post when I found a cool vintage side table on CL? Well, I finally got around to repainting it! It has taken me a couple of weeks because of the number of coats required to cover.

I used 2 coats of primer, 3 coats of flat latex paint and 2 coats of poly. I also sanded in between every coat to get the finish as smooth as possible. Here is the end result! I couldn't be more pleased.

Weekend Fun

Another weekend over, which is quite depressing. I have been meaning to share a picture of last weekend when two of my beautiful friends came to visit me! We had a GORGEOUS day to go shopping at the plaza and had a wonderful time.

I miss you both! Come back soon!

Can my house look like this???

Just came across this beautiful house on isuwannee.com and I am pretty sure I need to either A) live in this house or B) make my house look just like this one. Seeing is how B is my more reasonable option, I will go for that.

On that note, I just got a little bit more motivated to get off my behind and finish a few projects I have pending.

Garden Stool Side Table

I bought a garden stool at Garden Ridge in OKC not really knowing what I was going to do with it. I only paid about $15 for it, so I knew I could use it somewhere in the future. I have finally decided to repaint it (it was a kind of off-white, tanish color) and use it as a side table in the living room.

Before:

I picked up a can of white lacquer spray paint at Home Depot and went to town. It only took about 10 minutes!

After:

Also, here is a little sneak peek of another project I am working on :)

Spice it up

Wanted to share the cute new way I am storing some of my spices. We had one of the countertop spice sets, but this took up way too much room because we don't have much space.

I picked up a few magnetic spice containers at Bed Bath and Beyond and can now store some of them on the side of the fridge for easy access! Pretty cool, huh?

Pillow Bliss

The pillows are finally here!!! I couldn't be more thrilled or pleased; they look amazing! I worked with Etsy seller MartiniSQ and I would definitely recommend her for anyone who is looking to have some custom pillows made. Anyway, here they are in all their glory!

I need to find a few more pillows to put on the couch with these two. I am thinking something pretty subtle since these two are very bright and punchy.

Spring has sprung!

Let me start by saying that gardening is not my forte. I love flowers but designing a flower bed is just something I know nothing about, but we do our best!

Since it has been so nice outside lately, Adam and I decided to replant some flowers in one of our flowerbeds this afternoon. Last year we planted annuals, but decided to plant perennials this year so we won't have to keep planting every year. (We do have some bushes and a tree that we planted last year that regrow, just wanted to switch the flowers over.)

Sass decided she would like to model for the garden shoot.

The bushes are starting to grow again, but still have a little ways to go.

We went with blues, purples and pinks. (Mostly because there was the best selection of those colors.)

We have 4 more flowerbeds full of lava rock that we haven't touched yet; but hey, you've got to start somewhere, right?
