Bookcase Finds

I bought at IKEA back in May? Well, I am slowly gathering items to style it. I have recently acquired two new items that I wanted to share.

First, a milk glass bowl from a garage sale for ONE DOLLAR. You can't beat that!

Remember this bookcase

Second, a green Ikat bowl from Anthro on sale for $8. I'm in love. I probably should have bought more of them.

**I have been super busy with a new class and work so we still haven't finished cleaning up the grout in the laundry room. It will get done. I promise.

I Can Sew!!!

While my sweet father was working hard on tiling the laundry room this weekend, my mother and I stole away to sew my first pillow!!

Does that pattern look familiar?! It's not as hard as I thought it would be, but I still have a lot to learn. Thank you, Mom! You are the best!

**Tiling is complete, just still cleaning up grout. Pictures soon!

Tile Update

While the herringbone subway tile was a good idea... it isn't very practical. {see previous post} They are made for the walls and have a glaze on them so it probably wouldn't be smart to stick them on the floor... I hate admitting that my ideas aren't going to work.

Anyway, I ran back to Home Depot today and they have this Hexagon tile for around $2.50/sq ft. That put me over budget...but, I signed up for a 10% off coupon so that puts me at about $250 for the tile.

As always, let me know what you think!

Tile Pattern

When we put wood floors in we didn't do the laundry room because I want to tile it. My parents are coming up this weekend and have offered to bring their wet saw and help me tile it. I, of course, would love to spend a lot of money on tile and get something amazing but our laundry room is about 115 square feet and I want to keep the tile to about $200.

I was thinking about cheaper tile that I like and subway tile came to mind since we used it in our bathroom, which you can see here. I also love tile in a herringbone pattern so I thought why not do white subway tiles in a herringbone pattern?! The tiles are 21 cents a piece at Lowe's so that would come to $1.68 a sq/ft for tile. That means the grand total {without tax} would come to $193.20!!

I bought a few and set the out to see if I like it...

What do you think? Should I go for it??

Little Monsters!

Lady Gaga played in KC last night and one of my dearest friends came up from Oklahoma to go with me! We had the best time and I thought I would share a few of the photos I took...

Woah girl your ta-tas are sparkling...

After the concert we stayed around to get a picture with the opening band, Semi Precious Weapons. Excuse my arm that looks broken... well, that and all of the obscenities that are happening in this picture.
