Lack Bookcase

The aftermath of the IKEA trip is still present, but we are making progress on getting everything in its place. The first thing we put together was the Lack bookcase.

It will stay in the living room for now until I am compelled to put it elsewhere. I saw this picture of the bookcase in Lonny a few months ago and knew I had to have it!

I still have quite a ways to go...

Vintage Find

On the way home from IKEA we stopped at an antique mall in Iowa where I came across this pair of awesome vintage chairs.

The best part is they were only about $60 or the two. We didn't have any room in the truck for them so we paid for them and left them there for Adam to pick up the next time he is up that way. (Hopefully soon)

I am thinking about painting them white and reupholstering them in this fabric. This will be my first upholstery project so I am pretty excited!

Meatballs in Paradise

We did it. My ah-mazing husband took me to the happiest place on Earth (forget about Disneyland). Ikea was all I thought it would be and more! We brought home quite the load so I will be posting about all of it as I assemble/put it up.

We were one of the first people to walk into the store (geeks!) at 9:30 so we could grab breakfast on the cheap.

I got in my intense shopping mode and only remembered to snap a couple pics of the showroom.

These are a few of the purchases we made.

We then had to go to the warehouse to find the boxes for all of the furniture we wanted. Adam came in REALLY handy for this part.

And this is the damage we did. All two cart loads full.

We ended it all with a delicious plate of Swedish meatballs. Counting down the days until I get to go back!

I need.

With the impending purchase of an Ikea dining room table for the breakfast nook, I have been thinking a lot about what sort of chairs I want to pair with it. I have come to the conclusion that my heart will not be happy unless I find some faux bamboo chairs, that I can paint in a fun color and reupholster in an awesome fabric.

The {Late} Weekend in Pictures

Last weekend we headed back to Oklahoma again! Adam's sister graduated from OSU (Go pokes!) and I hung out with my momma for Mother's Day. It was weird to realize that it was me walking across that same stage one year ago.

Congratulations, Erin! We love you!

I was in the same sorority as Adam's sister, mom and aunts, which is pretty cool!

I am in the (slooowww) process of accessorizing the living room and I found this cute canister at the Big Lots in Stillwater for $18!

I forgot my camera on Mother's Day so I don't have any pics with my momma, but I love her and had a great time!

One Sweet Find

While reading High-Heel Foot in the Door today, I came across a great new blog that sells cool vintage finds. I already have my eye on a few of the items she is selling...

Vintage Chinese Cloisonne Dish

I can't wait to see what else she puts up!

Birthday Trip

My birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks, and I have thought long and hard about what I want. I might be crazy and I might not be, but I want to go to IKEA for my birthday! I have never been and I have accumulated quite a list of things I need (ok, want) from there. Thank goodness my sweet husband has agreed to taking me. I thought I would share a couple of the things on my wish list.

DOCKSTA Table
This table will fit perfectly in our small breakfast nook in the kitchen. I am thinking about finding some vintage chairs and repainting/upholstering them to go with it.

LACK Bookcase
This will find a home in my living room on one of the bare walls.

BOMULL Curtains
I will use these curtains in my living room. There are only $14.99/pair. You can't really beat that. These will definitely tide me over until I can afford something different!

KASSETT Box

I definitely need some of these. These could quite possibly make their way into almost every room in my house. In different colors, of course.

BÖJA Lamp

I am not sure where this will go yet but since every light fixture in my entire house needs to be replaced, I am pretty sure we will be able to find a place for it.

As you can tell, I am pretty excited about the upcoming trip. I will, of course, keep you updated on when we go and show pics of what we bring home!

The Weekend in Pictures

We headed back to Oklahoma this weekend for a family dinner and a night out. We had a great time and are all exhausted, even the girls!

I went out with the girls for sushi and we celebrated my birthday a little early with this amazing dessert...

This horse literally lives 50 feet from Adam's parent's house so we went over and said hello!

This girls slept all the way home.

Sassy even found a nice spot on my pillow!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!
