Striped Ceilings

Sorry I have been MIA for the past couple of days... I had a final today so have been using my free time studying. Anyway, I have been wanting to use some sort of stripes in our house lately but am not sure where to do it. I think a striped ceiling would be fun in an office guest bedroom or nursery. Here are a few inspiration pictures:

While working on a design board, I came across this amazing Ebay site. They sell great Hollywood Regency antiques at reasonable prices.

Here are a few of my favorites!

Design Board: Living Room

This living room is for my friend Madison who is living in Hollywood and working as an image consultant. I was really excited to design this room for her because this post that she wrote actually inspired me to give this whole design thing a try!

Madison describes her style as a mix of breezy California and Hollywood glamour with a hint of flea market. She requested a sectional {her husband is a couch hog!!} and just wanted a good feel to the room. Here is what I came up with!

FINALLY bought fabric!!

Remember these bentwood chairs I bought? Well I finally bought the fabric to recover them with. Block print fabric straight from India via Ebay. $25.

You can buy it here if you feel inclined. It even looks great with my new blog design!

**Update: Just got an e-mail that it will take 10-15 days to get here. I guess I will let it slide since it has to travel across the world.

Magnolia

I came across this cute magnolia block print on fastsoftpress's Etsy site. Isn't the mint green dreamy??

Design Board: Living Room

This is Sarah's design board for the living room in her new house. She wanted to use yellow, gray and white with pops of blue, her favorite color. Other than the light yellow walls she recently painted, it was a blank slate!

Design Board: Bedroom

A sweet girl contacted me and wanted help with inspiration for her bedroom in her new house. She was looking for a light, clean, simple feel with a mix of modern and classic. Also a special request of no white walls or white bedding. Here is what I came up with!

Look What I Bought!

Last weekend we bought an air compressor.

Why, you ask? Because you can hook it up to a paint sprayer and it makes painting furniture MUCH more enjoyable and faster! I have painted a dresser but still need to add the protective clear coat. Stay tuned for pictures next week.

In other news, we went to an antique show last weekend. Though we didn't buy anything {because everyone was pretty proud of what they had...}, I did take a few pictures of stuff I would like to buy.

Stack of Louis Vuitton suitcases... Yeah, I wish I made more money.

I am on the hunt for an antique knocker. I am obsessed with these but can't quite fork out the $125. If anyone sees one, feel free to let me know!

Happy Wednesday!

So Here's the Scoop...

I don't think I have shared much about what I am currently doing. After graduating from Oklahoma State with a degree in Advertising and Public Relations, I decided that I didn't want to pursue a career in that field. A few weeks after graduation, I made the decision to go back to school in order to become a mid-level medical practitioner. So for the past year I have been taking classes and working at a doctor's office in order to meet the requirements to apply for school. In the meantime, I have been working on my house, reading blogs and really falling in love with the design world, which has left me at a crossroads.

This is where you come in. I want to take on a few online decorating projects {for free of course} to see if this is something I enjoy doing and if I am even good at it. This could be a room you need help with, a piece of furniture that you want advice on how to refurbish or help selecting items from Craigslist. {we all know I love that!} In return, I ask that you give me honest feedback and if you like what I have done for you, let someone else know.

If this sounds interesting to anyone, e-mail me at michelle.leigh.henderson@gmail.com and tell me a little bit about what you would like help with!

{Here are a few pretty pictures from my inspiration file. Wouldn't want to give you a post with no eye candy!}
