Before and After: Doors

I saw this project a long time ago on Design*Sponge and have been wanting to try it ever since. So we finally got around to completing one door.

We started with this:



We bought trim at Home Depot and attached it to the door after sanding:



A few coats of black paint later... and BAM!





Remind me why I didn't do this sooner?? Only 8 more to go... oh and still need handles!

Eventually, Adam and I want to replace our exterior doors (one leading to the back porch, the "front" door, which has never been used, and the door leading into the garage) but have many other projects that will take priority. I happened to see a picture somewhere of a black door and thought I would give it a try on the door leading to the back porch, and I think it turned out quite nicely!

(also notice the wall color has been lightened up)



It's amazing what a little paint can do. Good thing since our entire house needs to be touched with the brush. We still need to change the hardware but definitely a good start.
