Outfit to Room
Striped - Etsy / Olive - Lauren Liess / Pink - Etsy
This green jacket is another recent purchase from F21 and I would be lying if I said I hadn't worn it the last three days in a row. It just goes with everything and is light enough for warmer weather. While it might be easy to find an olive green utility jacket, it is NOT easy to find a good olive green fabric... but alas, Lauren Liess to the rescue! She has some pretty good stuff!

Public Service Announcement
Do you ever find those things at F21 that look and feel SO much more expensive than they are?? This is it! I get excited by this, can you tell??? Also, it is sort of a neon yellow but not so obnoxious that it can't last beyond the trend. It is a subdued neon. The perfect summer bag for only $25! Do it!!

Colorblocking at Home
Chair - Serena & Lily / Rhino Bust - Serena & Lily
I know we have all seen the gorgeousness that color blocking can do to your wardrobe, but let's take a look at how to implement this into your home.
I like to find a piece of artwork (or fabric) to serve as my color inspiration for a room and in this case, I went with a piece that is mostly one "block" of color with accents of the other color being used in the space.
From there, choose a main piece of furniture (couch, dresser, bed, table, etc.) in one solid color to provide another "block."
Then accessorize in varying shades of the accent color and don't forget to add in a neutral to ground the space (this can be done with flooring, wall treatment, furniture... really anything!)

Outfit to Room
It has been raining here all week, which I won't complain too much about because I get to wear my boots! It is funny though because some people act like they have never seen rain boots before. The comment, "Are you preparing for a flood?" is always a favorite...
Have a good weekend and I will see you back here on Monday!

Style Basics: Chambray + Sheepskin
So I started thinking the other day about how much I love my chambray shirts. That I could (and want) to wear them every single day and how they are the perfect layering piece. I then started wondering what the equivalent in the home would be.... and thus a new series is born!
Necklace - Pink Mascara
Necklace - BaubleBar
Necklace - Anthropologie / Shoes - Dolce Vita
So how is a sheepskin like chambray shirt? You can literally add it to any room as a layering piece and it goes with all types of decor. I have never met a room that wouldn't benefit from a little sheepskin! Throw it over a couch, chair, bench or on the floor. I have one over my couch right now, which also doubles as a dog bed for the little one. I think I might need a couple more.
Do you see the correlation?

Ok I am kind of obsessing over these python heels from Zara. Should I buy them? I am pretty sure I would wear them with everything! They are just so.... perfect. Thoughts, anyone?
The home equivalent of these shoes? This python tray from Furbish Studio. This is a great way to add a touch of animal print (which is always a good idea!) in a small dose.

Spring Style
With the recent surge in warm weather, I feel like I am scrambling a bit to update my spring wardrobe. Usually I have a little longer, but I won't complain. Both of these are from Zara and I am in love! Especially with the glitter pair. I have some similar sandals from F21 that are literally falling apart because I have been wearing them for two years straight and I have been worried about replacing them, but these will totally do the trick!!

Lately
1. It has been so pretty out so Adam and I decided to go hit a few range balls. Hitting off of the tee is the only way to go!
2. Look at the big, sweet puppy yawn.
3. Target is now carrying foo dogs, or "fudog" as they like to call it.
4. The most perfect birthday card ever. Papyrus for Target is the best.
5. I channeled by inner Betty Crocker to make lemon cake balls for Adam's birthday. They were not a succes.
6. First soccer game ever and it was fun! I had no idea what was going on but I intend to learn.
Follow me on Instagram for more goodies.

Do you see the small amount of green in there? This was my St. Patrick's day outfit... I know it is pretty weak. I really don't have much green, which is still really weird to me. Honestly, I bought this top specifically for the day so I couldn't get pinched :)
We celebrated Adam's birthday on Saturday with a trip to the casino and a soccer game! The gambling didn't fair well for me... I played the Sex and the City slot machine and Carrie cost me $10 (I don't gamble with much!) but Adam made up for my loss. At least one of use knows our way around a casino.
Sheets - Pottery Barn / Headboard - Dering Hall / Sham - Serena & Lily / Art - Serena & Lily
Side Table - Overstock / Box - Overstock / Basket - Serena & Lily / Lamp - Robert Abbey
This outfit makes a cute "big girl" room. There is a good mix of sophisticated and playful pieces in a not too girly color palette. I kind of want to me this one happen. Anyone have a daughter who needs a new room?
Happy Monday!

In honor of St. Patrick's day, let's take a look at adding a little green into our wardrobes and homes. Isurprisingly don't have much green and actually had to go buy some yesterday to wear for our adventure tomorrow. I will share next week, but these flats from Piperlime would be perfect with my new top!!
For the home side of things, how cute with this Anthropologie Farmer's Market Basket be to store produce in your fridge! Better yet, leave it on the counter to add some color!
Have a fun St. Patrick's Day and I will see you back here next week!

This is my new favorite look! Tying up a t-shirt to make it look a little more chic, but still so comfy! And the maxi skirt doesn't hurt. I could literally live in those things.
I love the way these pieces work together because this is how I approach decorating in real life. All of the main pieces are neutral (just like the outfit) and then the color is brought in through artwork and accessories. I am kind of dying over that pillow!!

Girl on a Budget
We have made it half way through the week, which feels like a major accomplishment at this point! Today happens to be my husband's birthday and I can guarantee this post would be his favorite since everything here is under $25 (except for the light). Target and ASOS are totally rocking it this season!

It was SO beautiful in Kanas City yesterday (75 and sunny!) so we took the girls for a walk. It rained most of the day yesterday so it was still a little muddy. They, of course, had to play fetch so we came home a little dirty! No better excuse for a bath though!
Flats - Zara (similar or similar) / Snake Bracelet - Stella and Dot / Link Bracelet - Town and Reese
Watch - Anne Klein
Pillow - Etsy / Chair - Serena and Lily / Mirror - Amazon / Candlestick - Lazy Susan
Looking forward to a week full of more gorgeous weather!!

Evolution of a Room
New lamps made it and they are perfect! Love love them. I almost feel like I robbed the seller... I bought them for $60 with free shipping and when the box arrived it cost them $30 to ship them! What a deal!
We will find out this week if our contingent contract is going to go through or if we will have to go back on the market. Fingers crossed!! Happy Monday :)

Outfit to Room
Happy Friday!! Can't even tell you how excited that makes me! I was filling a little silly when we were taking these pics and I think that shows... maybe it was all the neon?!
What are some good ways to incorporate neon to your home? This tub featured on Design*Sponge might not be the most practical way to a splash of bright but it sure is fab!! How fun would this be?!
Painting your front door would be an easy and quick way to show your brights this spring. It would look so pretty against a dark gray house!
This cute Neon chair could be used inside OR outside and would definitely liven up your space and it's only $40!
So what do you think? Have any plans to add a little neon to your wardrobe or decor?
